The Tiny Guide to OpenOffice.org

Available now from Hentzenwerke Publishing, I completed my first book, a pocket-sized reference guide to OpenOffice.org. For those who haven’t heard, OpenOffice is a free, open source office productivity suite that competes with Microsoft Office and which has already amassed tens of millions of users around the world.

“The Tiny Guide to OpenOffice.org” is designed to be the essential starter’s guide to acquiring and using OpenOffice.org 1.1.x on its three major platforms: Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

It provides everything most people will need to become proficient users of the software, while at the same time can function as the ideal quick reference guide and companion to other OpenOffice books on the market.

Each component of OpenOffice–Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Data Source tools, Web, and the Formula tool–is treated to a thorough yet succinct collection of how-to topics.

Further, downloading and installing OpenOffice.org, working with users of Microsoft Office and other similar programs, participating in and benefiting from the open source community of developers and users, and finding more help and information online is all discussed in the book.
