Today is a good day for software migration news.
- The Inquirer reports “Croatian government adopts free software policy” in which they will move entirely to open source software, both to save money and avoid supplier dependence.
- Slashdot announces the city of Groningen, Netherlands, will switch its 3,650 computers to OpenOffice.org on Windows. “They are saving 330,000 euros per year by making this switch.”
- NewsForge describes Brandon Elementary School of Atlanta, Georgia’s switch from Microsoft Windows and Office to 250 desktops running OpenOffice.org and Linux using K12LTSP.
- Finally, Linux Devices announces a new Linux-powered humanoid general purpose robot under development in Paris.
